Wang Haiyan, a gynecologist-obstetrician in Hunan Province, edged into the New Fortune magazine's 500 Rich List for the first time in her life in May, 2012, ranking 492nd with a personal wealth of 2.26 billion yuan (US$358.7 million). The super-rich woman received her wealth through divorce compensation from her 53-year-old ex-husband Yuan Jinhua, vice president and co-founder of Sany Group, a leading Chinese heavy machinery manufacturer. Yuan, after giving out the piece of his wealth, still jumped 7 spots to 333rd on the list with a wealth of 3.58 billion yuan (US$568.3 million), or a 5 percent stakes in Sany.
