Settlement pending: Possibly more than 2.14 billion yuan (US$339.7 million), inclusive of former property distribution

In September 2012, Ji Zenghe, president of Beijing-based property giant, The Place, was sued by his ex-wife Zhang Qiuhua for unequal distribution of assets. The couple, who got married in 1995 and underwent great difficulties in expanding their business, divorced in January 2010. Zhang was awarded three houses, 40 million yuan (US$6.35 million) and a company valued at 200 million yuan (US$31.7 million) at that time. However, Zhang later discovered that Ji had intentionally concealed their common fortune. Zhang claimed that she should be entitled to nearly half of Ji's 65 percent stakes valued at nearly 4 billion yuan (US$634.9 million). Zhang, the mother of their 14-year-old son, also claimed that famed Taiwan model and actress Jessey Meng, who married 52-year-old Ji in March, 2011, is the other woman wrecking their marriage.
