Located in northwest Guangdong Province, 60 kilometers from the provincial capital city of Guangzhou, Qingyuan City is well-known among Guangdong natives for its hot springs and it is also renowned in Hong Kong and Macao SAR. Its geothermal resources are the best in Guangdong, and are only bested by Tibet and Yunnan in China.
