Founded in 1997, Evergrande Real Estate Group (Evergrande Group) is a large-scale, modern property developer uniting planning, design, development, construction and management businesses under one roof. Presently, the Guangzhou-based company has over 150 major ongoing projects in more than 80 Chinese cities. The company listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange Nov. 5, 2009.
Evergrande's total assets jumped from 63.07 billion yuan in 2009 to 104.45 billion yuan last year, and its revenue surged from 5.72 billion yuan in 2009 to 45.80 billion yuan in 2010, according to its annual report. Net profits also climbed from 1.12 billion yuan in 2009 to 8.02 billion yuan last year.
