A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6 jolted the Kanto region Wednesday afternoon, Kyodo News agency reported, quoting the Japan Meteorological Agency.

The quake which occurred at 12:52 p.m. local time originated from a depth of 10 kilometers in the Pacific off Chiba.

No tsunami warnings were issued following the earthquake.
