Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Monday asked minister to send emergency relief aids to Japan, and track down Indonesian citizens in the disaster-hit areas.

The president said that there were scores of Indonesians living in disaster-hit areas in Japan. He said that so far more than 100 Indonesian citizens had been evacuated in Tokyo.

"I hope all (about the Indonesian citizens) can be found out, the whereabouts of out brothers, our citizens whom reportedly living in disaster-affected areas," Yudhoyono was quoted by Presidentsby.info as saying.

He ordered Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa to prepare to send aids to Japan despite the country had not highlighted its needs.

"I have decided that we will send the aids, because other countries have started sending assistance," said Yudhoyono in Bogor of West Java.

Indonesia had received help from the international community after the tsunami hit Aceh province in northern tip of Sumatra island along with countries bordered with Indian Ocean in December 2004.

In Indonesia its self, the tsunami killed over 170,000 people and caused massive destruction of infrastructure.
