A strong earthquake, measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale, hit Myanmar-India border region at 8:26 p.m. Myanmar Time (1456 GMT) on Friday, according to Myanmar's Department of Hydrology and Meteorology Department.

No damage has been reported yet, the department said.

The epicenter of the earthquake, was determined to be at 24.6 degrees north latitude and 94.6 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 90 km, said the sources.

The epicenter was about 320 kilometers northwest of Mandalay and 56 kilometers southeast of Tamu, Magway region, the department said.

The earthquake was also felt almost across Bangladesh Friday evening.

"Yes, I felt it. The water bucket was rocking while I was in bathroom... I felt a little bit scared," said Tahmina Yasmin, a school teacher in Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh.

The authorities said no damage and casualties have been reported so far.
