China on Monday vowed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Vietnam to tackle corruption.

The pledge came out of a meeting between He Yong, deputy secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and a delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee's Commission for Inspection.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of China-Vietnam diplomatic ties, He said, adding that China would like to deepen cooperation with Vietnam and advance the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation in a sustained, healthy and stable manner.

The departments of the CPC and the CPV in charge of discipline inspection have promoted exchanges in party building and anti-corruption through high-level visits and staff training, He said.

He hoped both sides could further boost cooperation in relevant areas.

Mai The Duong, head of the Vietnamese delegation and vice chairman of the commission, spoke highly of China's achievements in anti-corruption and economic development, saying that he hoped the two nations could further conduct pragmatic cooperation.
