Greek police experts detonated on Thursday afternoon one more suspicious package, the second in a day, inside a central Athens Greek bank branch, and examined five more suspicious parcels traced in the Greek parliament building and a courier company.

According to local media reports, a Greek counter-terrorism detonation squad proceeded to a controlled explosion of a package sent to "Greek Bank" at Syntagma Square in the center of the Greek capital.

The parcel proved harmless eventually, as Greek experts discovered. Instead of an explosive device they suspected, it contained books.

A similar scene was repeated shortly afterwards at the nearby Greek parliament building. Experts examined a package which seemed suspicious and was addressed to the Parliament Speaker Philippos Petsalnikos.

No detonation occurred in this case, but authorities checked thoroughly and found out that it also contained papers and books.

But, another book addressed to the French embassy in Athens and traced earlier on Thursday in a courier company in Athens, was booby-trapped. The sender was supposed to be the Archbishop of Athens Ieronimos. Police detonated this package too.

The four suspicious parcels that also alerted Greek experts on Thursday noon at another courier company in a northern Athens suburb, proved harmless as well, but Greek police continue searches for more explosive parcels.

It is reported that in the possession of the two young people arrested on Monday they have found a list with potential targets.

The one possible target is said to be a European embassy in Athens and the other is said to be the embassy of an Asian country.

Since Monday Greek and foreign police authorities have discovered more than a dozen booby-trapped parcels addressed to European leaders and foreign embassies. Greek authorities suspended all international air post for two days amidst a wave of parcel bombs against foreign targets since Wednesday.
