All the eight crew members of the cargo plane that crashed outside Afghan capital Kabul on Tuesday night have been confirmed dead, an Afghan official with Kabul international airport said Wednesday.

"All the crew of the plane, including six Filipinos, one Indian and one from Kenya, were killed in the tragic incident," the official told reporters at the site of incident but declined to be named.

The ill-fated plane, he added, belonged to an African company " Trans-Africa" and was hired by an American company, National Air Cargo, to transport goods from a U.S. military base in Bagram to the province.

He also said that before the crashing, the plane twice shuttled between Bagram airbase and Paktika's provincial capital Sharan.

Bagram, 50 km north of Afghan capital Kabul, is the largest military base of the U.S.-led Coalition forces in Afghanistan.

The plane on Tuesday night hit a mountain near Kabul and crashed.
