Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong met visiting President of the University of Chicago Robert Zimmer Monday, calling for promotion of China-U.S. education and youth exchange.

Liu spoke highly of the education cooperation and exchange the University of Chicago has carried out with Chinese universities and colleges, expressing appreciation for Zimmer's efforts to promote friendly relations between his university and China.

Liu encouraged the U.S. university to further cooperation with China's educational circles, promote people-to-people exchanges, in particular the exchange between young people, to contribute to the development of bilateral relations.
