Two days after the 11-hour hostage taking incident in the Philippine capital of Manila that ended in the deaths of eight people from Hong Kong, the finger-pointing still continues.

Some netizens lambasted the administration over the "mishandled" hostage crisis. Criticisms over the Philippine government's role in the tragedy riddled social networks like Facebook and Twitter, especially the fan page of Philippine President Benigno Simeon Aquino.

Instead of praises that could usually be read from Aquino's Facebook account, anger and hurt over how the government handled the situation rammed P-Noy's (Filipinos' pet name for Aquino) fan page.

Obviously unsatisfied with Aquino's explanations over the bloody tragedy, one of the comments read: "We need the truth, not lie. We need Justice, not excuse. I'm angry. Everyone is angry."

Another commentator who said he is a student of Hong Kong said: In this tragedy, I do not blame any of (Filipino but) the police. As I believe that there was another way to save hostages such as (to) continue the negotiation rather than using violence.

Yet another who introduced himself as a resident of the Hong Kong said, "I am so angry that (the Philippine) government and police force did not do their best to protect the Hong Kong people. It is a sad day for Hong Kong and a lot of people are crying today. " Accord Capital Equities Corp. analyst Justino Calaycay in his Facebook account connected with the website of the president, " I don't know what to think, I don't know what to say on and about today's tragic ending to the hostage-taking. We never learn. There were lapses, there were excesses.

Aquino has already declared Aug. 25 as day of national mourning for the victims of Monday's hostage-taking incident that left eight Hong Kong tourists dead. Hostage-taker, former Police Senior Inspector Rolando Mendoza, was also killed in a gunfight with local police.
