Cooperation between Malaysia and China has entered a new and higher level along with the tie-up of Hai-O Group and the Institute of Engineering Thermo physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (IET) on jointly researching and developing intensity heat transfer technology.

Koh Tsu Koon, the Minister of the Prime Minister Office of Malaysia, made the remark at a promoting ceremony on Thursday in Kuala Lumpur for Hai-O and IET's jointly established laboratories on researching a new heat transfer phenomenon called non-phase change heat transfer here on Thursday.

The partnership between the two sides in high technology was very much in line with Malaysia's new economic mode pushed by the Prime Minister Najib, with emphasis on innovation and developing hi-tech, high valued added and knowledge driven economy, said Koh Tsu Koon.

The two sides signed an agreement on August 12 in Beijing on co-developing and researching non-phase change heat transfer phenomenon, which was believed to largely raise the speed and efficiency of heat transfer.

They agreed to set up two laboratories, one in Beijing, which is still under construction, and the other in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which has already put into operation.

We will co-develop the research platform and nurture a team of talents to investigate the non-phase change heat transfer phenomenon and further advance the fundamental and technology research in this field, said Qin Wei, Director of IET.

Hai-O Energy, founded in 2007, is a subsidiary of Hai-O Group dedicating to researching high intensity heat transfer technology and its applications in the real economy.
