China has topped another global ranking. According to statistics from the civil aviation administration, more people in China travelled by plane in 2016 than any other country in the world.

480 million Chinese flew on a plane this year, a year-on-year increase of eleven percent. The number of flight routes offered to passengers increased by 260 to reach 3,214.

Moreover, total cargo transport volumes reached an impressive 95-point-9 billion tons. China's domestic aviation industry logged a record 60 billion yuan in profits from January through November. An increase of 10 percent compared with the same period last year.
