At least two people have been injured in an escalator accident at a subway station in the southern Chinese city Shenzhen, which borders Hong Kong.

The operator of the subway line says the injured have been taken to hospital. The Hong Kong MTR Corporation also runs the Beijing Subway Line 4, which saw an escalator accident last week.

The accident happened Sunday night at the northern terminal of the south-north subway line. Witnesses say the escalator began to run backwards, shaking. The people on it fell down. Fortunately, it was not rush hour and only a few people were in the station.
