However, the woman who calls brush art her Destiny once lost herself in the pursuit. That was years ago - at a time when her father's rigorous training took its toll on her. Her father, a former poet abandoned his career - devoting his life's work to grooming his daughter into an accomplished brush artist.
Lou Deping, Lou Zhengang's father, said, "She learned painting at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, while I took charge of improving her in calligraphy. My teaching methods were really tough, even cruel. It's an approach that's hard to endure, even for outside observers. But History taught me a truth - to become a great man, one must frustrate his will and exhaust his body. Only then will he acquire the perseverance to succeed."

But as the regimen of unceasing practice of brushstrokes descended upon her childhood, the work became tedious, even painful. Lou recalls no happy childhood memories.
