This village in Geda township was one of the hardest hit regions when last week's powerful earthquake struck Tibet.
Tents were distributed by central and local governments and now serve as shelters for over 170 households whose homes collapsed in the disaster.
A resident of Geda township, Damxung county, said, "Thanks to the governments' help, we don't need to worry about our meals and clothing. We are very grateful."
And all of the some 300 students from a local primary school have also been moved into tents to continue their studies.
In their temporary classrooms, relief supplies such as quilts help the students cope with the cold air on the plateau.
There were no casualties in this school, thanks to a timely and orderly evacuation.
The principal of the school says that after the earthquake, the school held several evacuation drills to help students learn how to survive a quake.
The efforts have paid off.
A local primary school student said, "I was scared when last Monday's quake struck. But after learning more about earthquakes, I am not as scared as I used to be."
The 6.6-magnitude quake that struck Damxung County on October 6th, left 10 people dead and 54 injured. More than 61,000 people have been affected.
The central government has allocated 10 million yuan as well as tents, quilts, and other relief supplies to the quake-hit areas.
