The Beijing Municipal Tourism Bureau has announced that a second batch of travel agencies in Beijing have been awarded 5A certifications.
From February 2008, the Beijing Municipal Tourism Bureau sent out personnel in secret and carried out a tourist sample survey to assess ten travel agencies that had applied for certification. They then identified three of them as qualified to meet the 5A grade: Beijing CAISSA International Travel Service, Hua Yuan International Travel Company, and Destination Travel International (Beijing) Company.
Seven of the travel agencies have been recognized as 4A travel agencies. They are China International Travel Service Beijing, China Travel Service Beijing, China Commercial International Travel Service, China Golden Bridge Travel Service Corporation Head Office, China Supreme Harmony Travel Service, Beijing Xinhua International Tours Company, and Beijing Mandarin International Tours Company.
