Job hunters attend a job fair for Shanghai World Expo staff at Yuanshen Stadium in Pudong yesterday. More than 300 companies in exhibitions, marketing, design, accounting and logistics are offering 6,000 jobs. The fair attracted 25,000 job seekers, 3,500 of whom signed initial agreements. The job fair will be rolled out in the city's 17 districts and one county this month.

The end of Shanghai Expo means the beginning of a job hunting season for those who worked at the Expo site, as tens of thousands job seekers attended a job fair specially held for Expo workers and volunteers Wednesday.

The fair's organizer, the Shanghai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, aimed to help nearly 20,000 Expo workers and volunteers to find new jobs. Although a large portion of the 25,000-plus job seekers had no connection with the Expo.

Most companies did not appear to care whether applicants had Expo experience.

Any Expo workers who fail to find a job in one or two months, will be recommended to employers by the bureau until they get hired.

Besides Expo workers, university graduates who had served as Expo volunteers appear to be popular choices among employers.
