China's major domestic airlines have announced increases in passenger fuel surcharges from October 27, 2010.

Airlines — including Air China, China Southern Airlines, and China Eastern Airlines — will levy a surcharge of 70 yusn for flights of more than 800 kilometers, up from 40 yuan. The fee on shorter routes will rise to 40 yuan from 20 yuan.

The revised fuel surcharges are applicable to tickets issued after October 27, 2010.

The move is in accordance with National Development and Reform Commission's decision to raise the prices of gasoline, diesel oil, and aviation fuel.
