Dragon Lantern Dance, Wuyuan, Jiangxi

The Wuyuan county in Jiangxi sends out the sweet smell of osmanthus. In the peaceful land, villagers weave the grass dragon, also called "burning incense dragon", from rice straw and green vines and play dragon dance in alleys. The grass dragon can be made as long as 300 meters. Children pile up a tower with bricks and tiles. They put up moon cakes and fruits to worship the moon god on top of it. At night, children light the fire in the tower and play together till late at night.
