A news briefing on July 15 said a complete infrastructure and service system will be put in place before the island opens for tourism on May 1, 2011.

Tangshan Bay is 230 kilometers from Beijing, and is a stop on the route of the Tangshan-Hong Kong Express. The planned tourist park will cover 73 square kilometers, including Puti Island, Crescent Moon Island, and Xiangyun Island.

Dutch style chalets on Crescent Moon Island

Puti Island is a world-famous bird watching sanctuary as well as a place of pilgrimage, with the Chaoyin Temple and Chaoyang Nunnery. Xiangyun is nicknamed the "Maldives" of China because of its golden beaches and blue sea. Crescent Moon Island was given its name because of its shape but is also a great place to enjoy the glorious full moon. There are hundreds of Dutch style chalets on the island.

?The tourist area will include a folklore center, a love island, a couples' island, a birth island, a haven for the elderly, a marina, spa, fishing facilities, a Buddhist cultural center, a business center, and a golf course.
