Based on the content of posts shared by users throughout the last year, the report analyzes potential changes in the lifestyles of young people in 2023, hoping to shed some light on likely trends in the new year.

Here are the top 10 lifestyle trends in China for 2023.

# Building community in neighborhoods

In 2022, many people became closer to their neighbors. Due to the COVID-19 response measures, many people joined community groups for group purchases of groceries and daily necessities and met their neighbors for the first time in the process, thereby realizing the importance of community. 

In 2022, posts related to "building community in neighborhoods" on Xiaohongshu expanded by 213% year on year. Young people are increasingly "going local," such as by visiting nearby grocery stores rather than shopping online and by participating in community activities. Small neighborhood shops like bakeries and cafes are also becoming popular places where young people meet to socialize.
