# "Leap"

Peter Chan's highly acclaimed sports film "Leap" depicts the struggles of several generations of the Chinese women's national volleyball team from 1981 to 2016. The team had been the pride of the nation and Lang Ping — the most iconic Chinese volleyball player in history — is the central character, reviving memories for Chinese people and making them feel proud again, and knowing why they could feel proud. Indeed, the hard work and spirit of generations of women making up China's volleyball team still inspire the whole nation. The film has been selected by the Chinese authorities to compete at the Academy Awards 2021 in the best international feature film category.
