Of all the films based on the Chinese classic 'Journey to the West' coming out in 2016/2017 (at least six by our count), there are two that are especially exciting. The first one is 'A Chinese Odyssey Part 3', simply because it's directed by Jeff Lau, who made the two classic Stephen Chow 'Chinese Odyssey' films in the mid-90s, which are still the most imaginative, moving and funny live action re-imaginings of the exploits of Monkey, Pigsy and co. Karen Mok, who starred in the originals is set to reappear in Part 3, along with current popular Chinese mainland actor Geng Han as the Monkey King.
