Located at 50 kilometers southeast of Tianshui City, the Maiji Mountain scenic area covers a total area of 215 square kilometers. It became world famous due to the Maiji Mountain Grottoes, one of the Four Great Grottoes in China, together with the Mogao, Longmen and Yungang Grottoes. Main attractions include Maiji Mountain, Xianren Cliff, Stone Gate and Quxi River and the Jieting Ancient Town. The scenic area features green cypresses, pines, luxuriant wild flowers and vast meadows.
