With millions of animals sharing the world with us, it should come as no surprise that there are species continually being discovered. Enter the micro chameleon, the sneezing monkey and the purple crab ― three species that rank as some of the strangest animals ever seen.

 Tube-nosed fruit bat（管鼻果蝠）

This creature is called tube-nosed fruit bat, which was one of roughly 200 species found in a remote rainforest in Papua New Guinea during two expeditions in 2009. It flies in the forest, looking for fruits and then disperses seeds from the fruits in its diet, which is beneficial to the local ecosystem. The unique appearance of the bat bears striking resemblance to the Star Wars Jedi Master Yoda.
