Shandong Luneng notched the biggest win in round one of the 2006
CSL championship, with Li Jinyu scoring twice and Zheng Zhi once in
a 3-1 home victory over newly-promoted Xiamen Lanshi.
Li opened the scoring on 24 minutes but last season's top scorer
Branko Jelic, playing his first competitive match for Xiamen since
transferring from Beijing in the close season, levelled in the 75th
minute.
Zheng Zhi restored Shandong's lead a minute later before Li
Jinyu made extra sure of the points with his second of the game
with five minutes remaining.
Shandong share top spot with Tianjin Teda, Chongqing Lifan and
Wuhan Huanghelou after the first round of matches. Tianjin won 3-2
at Shenzhen Kingway thanks to goals from Wang Jun, Li Benjian and
Wu Wei'an. Huo Zhiyu and Jian Wenpeng scored either side of a Xu
Liang effort to give Chongqing a 2-1 home win against Liaoning,
while Zhou Yi and Wang Wenhua scored second-half goals in Wuhan's
2-0 victory over Shenyang Ginde.
In their first match since relocating to Shaanxi province, Xi'an
Chanba (formerly Inter Shanghai) held Shanghai Liancheng Zobon 1-1,
Kwame Ayew scoring after the break to cancel out Yang Lin's
first-half opener for the visitors.
Last season's runners-up Shanghai Shenhua were held to a
goalless draw by newly-promoted Changchun Yatai at Hongkou Stadium,
while Qingdao Zhongneng drew 0-0 at home to Beijing Guoan.
Reigning champions Dalian Shide open their defence of the title
next weekend with a home match against local rivals Liaoning
FC.
