German teenager Sabine Lisicki took her first WTA title on Sunday after downing fifth-seeded Dane Caroline Wozniacki in the Family Circle Cup final in Charleston, South Carolina of the United States.

The 19-year-old Lisicki, seeded 16th in the WTA tournament and having knocking out second seed Venus Williams in the third round, upset the 18-year-old Wozniacki 6-2, 6-4 as she took fully control of the final with booming serves and powerful ground strokes.
She twice broke Wozniacki, who had upset top-seeded Russian Elena Dementieva in the semifinals, in the first and fifth games in a quick first set before again broke her opponent in the fifth game of the second set to lift the victory.
"I was a little bit nervous when I had my first match points but I think it is normal," said Lisicki, who fired down nine aces and hit 33 winners in the final.
