Argentina's Silvio Velo opened the scoring with a moment of inspiration, an unstoppable high shot. However, Great Britain's Lee Greatbatch surprised Argentina and equalized at the start of the second half.
Ivan Figueroa restored Argentina's lead and Silvio Velo added a third goal in the last minute of the match.
Unless China beats Brazil by a five-goal margin in the last match of today, Argentina will play for the bronze medal and Brazil will play China in the gold medal match.
Great Britain will play the classification match on September 17, aiming to finish fifth in the tournament.
