Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov complained that the economic sanctions imposed on his country by the United States and its allies are not designed to force Russia change its foreign policy, but to bring about regime change. Russian President Vladimir Putin also said he would be vigilant against color revolution.

It is well known that Washington is expert in engineering regime change through war or "color revolution." Even though the Afghan, Iraq and Libya wars were strategic disasters, they in fact ended in regime change. The U.S. is still working to bring about regime change in Syria, Iran, the DPRK and even Hong Kong.

In spite of all that, there is an increasing chorus among Western analysts blaming Russia and China for "acting like revisionist powers, trying to undermine key elements of the existing international order, including territorial boundaries and long-standing security partnerships."(Washington Post article "How the Unites State Can Counter the Ambitions of Russia and China" by Ely Ratner and Thomas Wright)

But the fact is that it is the United States that has kept violating international laws and UN Charter. And at its root is the deep-seated belief in "American Exceptionalism:" Americans are doing God's work. They can do whatever they like!

After World War II, and especially after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States, as the lone super power, lorded it over the world, ordering other countries around, assuming an air of extreme arrogance.
