Chris Hoy, a cycling talent, finished his hat trick at Beijing Olympics, bagging his third personal gold and the seventh for Britain Tuesday, by beating his teammate Jason Kenny 2-0 in the final of men's sprint.

The 32-year-old veteran exhibited his superb form in today's semifinal and final, without leaving any chance for Mickael Bourgain from France and 20-year-old Jason Kenny, by winning both races with convincing advantage.

The bronze medal went to Mickael Bourgain from France, who beat Maximilian Levy from Germany 2-1.

The 1.86-meter cyclist became the first Briton in 100 years to win three golds at the same Olympics, after clinching men's keirin gold and led the British team to win men's team sprint champion.

"A year ago, I couldn't have believed it. It's such an achievement," said Hoy who claimed himself to be a wreck as he let his emotion come out at the end.

"It could be the hardest race in my life probably," he said.

With the success at the Beijing Games, Hoy has won gold in four separate Olympic events, including the one-kilometer time trial at Athens Games in 2004.

The British cyclists bagged seven out of ten golds, three silvers and three bronzes at Laoshan Velodrome, a lucky stadium to the mighty British cycling team which vastly helped their nation to be seated at the third place on overall medal standings with 15 golds.

On the success, Hoy said it had been coming over the years.

"We come here and the whole team have performed at its very best," he exclaimed. "It's been perfect."
