Legal advisor from the Honduran Public Ministry Rigoberto Espinal Irias announced on Wednesday that they will present at least 15 judicial requirements against officials from the government of ousted President Manuel Zelaya.
The accusations include betrayal to the country, misuse of public founds and illegal acquisition of goods.
Espinal did not mention the name of the officers but he said that these "are not invented cases, are open investigations, much before June 28" when Zelaya was ousted and taken to Costa Rica.
After the coup occurred, many ministers escaped from Honduras and some seek refugee status in foreign embassies in the country.
Espinal said he believed that the Public Ministry is objective, impartial, to be out of the political parties, not to carry a persecution for ideologies, but to be carried with the objectiveness demanded by the penal science.
After Zelaya was ousted, the Honduran Congress appointed Roberto Micheletti as president, who has been pushed by the international community to restore Zelaya in power.
