An Indonesian humanitarian aid group is planning to build a hospital in the Middle East conflicting area of Gaza Strip, the Antara news agency reported on Tuesday.
Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (Mer-C), an Indonesian group of doctors who voluntarily serve victims of violence in war-torn areas, is intending to build a hospital for the victims of Israeli military attacks in Gaza strip, Palestine. The hospital would be called Indonesia hospital.
"Thank God, there is a plot of land measuring 4,000 square meters contributed by Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip for the construction of the Indonesia Hospital," Antara quoted Mer-C Chairman Dr Sarbini Abdul Murad as saying on Tuesday.
Sarbini said that it has hired a contractor to commence the building construction.
Another Mer-C senior official, Joserizal Jurnalis, said that it has sent its third team mainly tasked to supervise the hospital construction in Gaza strip.
Joined by young Indonesian doctors, Mer-C deployed its initial team in the wake of Israeli military attacks late last year.
The first team delivered Indonesia government's medical supplies aid for the victims of the attacks, which took thousands of Palestinian lives and left thousand others injured.
