UN Secretary, Indian FM discuss Mumbai attack
Adjust font size:

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee discussed the terrorist attack on Mumbai after the former arrived in New Delhi Thursday evening for attending a development conference, reported the Press Trust India on Friday.

Mukherjee "apprised him (Pan) about Pakistani linkages to the terror strikes and urging him to press Islamabad to cooperate," said the report.

Mukherjee told Ban that India has obtained enough evidence to prove that Pakistan was involved in the attack.

At least 170 people were killed when 10 militants attacked the Indian financial capital in late November.

India has formally blamed Pakistani intelligence for the Mumbai attack as well as the attack upon Indian Embassy in Kabul in July last year, in which 40 people were killed. Pakistan has denied it.

Ban is here for the Sustainable Development Summit. He also discussed with Mukherjee situation in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, according to the report.

The UN Secretary General is on his second visit here since last October. Before arriving here, he also visited Afghanistan and Pakistan.
