China and Jordan inked three cooperation pacts on Tuesday
following talks between visiting Chinese Assistant Minister of
Commerce Chen Jian and Jordanian Minister of Planning and
International Cooperation Suhair al-Ali.
The first agreement is an implementation one concerning two
electronic boards installed in Al-Hussein Youth City in Amman and
Prince Mohammad Sport City worth an estimated 20 million yuan
(about US$2.6 million).
Under the second agreement, China will train 30 Jordanian
officials from the public sector and 10 from the civil defense
directorate.
The third agreement is a grant one, under which China will
finance development projects in Jordan.
Chen, who is in Jordan to participate in the second Arab-China
Business Conference, highlighted the relations between China and
Jordan, noting that China is committed to further supporting Jordan
in various fields and enhancing trade and investment ties.
Suhair al-Ali underlined the significant role that China plays
in Jordan's economic and social development.
The Jordanian minister also expressed appreciation over China's
assistance to Jordan, which has exceeded US$86 million since
1984.
