Top advisor Jia Qinglin on Thursday called for further
cooperation between China and Mongolia and enhancement of exchanges
between parties in the two countries.
Jia made the remarks while meeting with TS. Elbegdorj, chairman
of Mongolian Democratic Party.
The development of good-neighborly partnership of mutual trust
between the two countries benefits not only the interests of the
two peoples but also peace and stability in the region, said Jia,
chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's
Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's top
advisory body.
China and Mongolia established a good-neighborly partnership of
mutual trust in 2003 when President Hu Jintao paid a state visit to
Mongolia.
China and Mongolia, as neighboring countries, enjoy solid
political, cultural and social foundation for their friendly
cooperation, said Jia, who is also a member of the Standing
Committee of the Central Committee Political Bureau of the
Communist Party of China (CPC).
Jia vowed to enhance party exchanges between the two countries
to facilitate nation-to-nation ties.
China-Mongolia trade in 2005 reached US$860 million, up by 24
percent over the previous year, and trade hit US$1.13 billion in
the first nine months, up by 88.8 percent from the same period last
year,
Elbegdorj, head of Mongolia's second largest party, said his
party values relations with the CPC and will make contribution to
Mongolia-China relations.
Elbegdorj visits China from December 12 to 14 at the invitation
of the CPC.
