China was the Guest of Honor for the 2009 Frankfurt Book Fair, held annually (usually in mid-October) in the city of Frankfurt, Germany. Coordinated by the General Administration of Press and Publication of the People's Republic of China, CIPG (China International Publishing Group), China's largest foreign-language publishing and distributing organization, promoted an activity to exhibit Chinese books from Oct. 1 to 31, attracting many foreigners to attend.
