Rain continuing along Yangtze River, snow to hit Tibet
Adjust font size:

Moderate to heavy rain will continue to dash the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River over the following three days, and a new round of snow is expected to hit Tibet, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) reported on Sunday.

NMC said rain had been sweeping part of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River since the mid-February. Over the next three days, heavy rain is expected in the region as well as Guizhou Province in southwest China.

A new round of snow will fall in Tibetan Plateau. The southeastern part of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the southeastern part of Qinghai Province and the southwestern part of Gansu Province will receive heavy snow. The situation is forecast to ease after March 2.

NMC said the snow would help ease the drought in Qinghai Province.

Snow is also forecast to fall in part of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Hebei province and Shanxi Province from March 2 to 3.

Shower will slash South China over the following three days, which will ease the drought in Guangdong Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
