Blogger Juan Zi's weblog, called
The Varicolored World,
won the award for best Chinese blog in the 2006 Deutsche Welle
International Weblog competition, according to the latest news from
Germany.
Having been diagnosed with stomach cancer this July, Juan Zi, an
editor of a fashion magazine, wasn't frightened. Instead, she
decided to turn to her weblog to record her experience fighting the
disease.
"Since being told I had cancer, my blog has become an important
part of my life. Many friends express their care and support
through my blog. I found the best hospitals and doctors via my
blog."
Juan Zi's husband said the award is not as important as
continuing to write. He says his wife's blog is now a platform
connecting her to friends.
