Bars & Clubs Emerging in Guangzhou(II)
Happy Bar: Along the Pearl River by Hai Zhu Guangchang, the Happy Bar offers a quiet and cozy place to have a drink with very friendly staff.

In the back, beyond the bar they have a small dance room and a Western DJ cranking out the tunes to keep everybody moving.

They are big on Jack Daniels, but have a assortment of beers including Budwerser. Sol, Carlsberg, Coors Guinness and specialty beers include Jazz and KGB.

Interested in a glass of wine? They serve both red and white from France and Australia by the glass at 30 RMB or by bottles ranging from 200 to 400 RMB. A limited number of cocktails are available.

If you'd like something different, have a cup of their coffee, ice coffee, spiked coffee or any of a variety of flavored teas on offer priced between 20 to 40 RMB.

They also have a limited menu if you get hungry, offering an assortment of Chinese fast food.

ET Bar: Step aboad the transporter(elevator) and prepare yourself to be catapulted to another planet. once you've landed, you walk out on to the first floor, passed a 7-foot alien and his landing craft as you head out for a drink. overhead the DJ station looks like it's ready to enter hyper drive. the crew is dressed in something out of Star Trek.

The place is massive with multi level drinking, eating and singing. the dinning floor has a four-headed monster keeping its eyes on you. All of them!

During the early evening the music is played by a DJ offering both Chinese and English music. From 7pm to 8pm the entertainment centers on the large platform on the first floor where they have a saxophonest playing jazz music and then from 10pm to 2am singers and dancers take over.

Plenty of private rooms if you want to get away from the crowds.

Onethe expensive side with a doz Tsingdao, Carlsberg and Budweiser at 320 RMB and Sol and heineken at 380 RMB.

red and white wines are available as are their ET Special Frozen drinks including Pina Colada and Frozen Baileys Irish Cream. They also have shooters, cocktails,wine coolers and liqueurs.

If you'd like to check out the place without getting stung for the price of a beer, pop over after 6:30pm for any of their Western style set meals at around 80RMB. Sounds more reasonable!
