Zazen Tour to Monasteries Hot Among Guangzhou's White-collars

Guangzhou Holiday International Travel Agency and the Guangdong Buddhist Association have jointly designed 3 'zazen-style' itineraries for the city's white-collar sector.

A debut ceremony has been planned to take place at the city's Guangxiao Monastery on June 25th.

Zazen Tours have recently been a popular choice for tourists in many Southeast Asian countries and regions. They include sightseeing at monasteries, religious discussion with senior monks, and sampling Buddhist vegetarian food. It is regarded by many big-spending travelers as an effective way to relieve stress and "purify life."

The Guangzhou agency's zazen tour is only open to citizens above 18 years of age.

Miss Gao, who has just returned from a Yoga Tour in India organized by the company earlier this year, said she was very pleased with her experience in India so she came to sign up for the zazen tour to the Guangxiao Monastery. "It is a great way to learn and relax," she said.

A manager at the company said they had received numerous inquiry calls from citizens, many of whom are white-collar workers.
