The Chinese government may relax height requirements on free entrance tickets for children.
A draft regulation that proposes to raise the limit from 1.1 to 1.3 meters, which is considered the average height of children aged between 6 and 7, has been acknowledged by the State Development Planning Commission. Meanwhile, the draft also suggests that real age be taken into consideration for children above average height.
Liu Hongyu, who proposed the draft, says improved living conditions are allowing children to grow taller, making it necessary to change entrance policies.
Upon approval, the draft law will allow hundreds of thousands of children under the age of 7 to benefit from free access to buses, parks and performances.
