Based on the five principles of peaceful coexistence, China-India relations will develop in a healthy and stable manner, said Chinese Vice-President Zeng Qinghong in Beijing Tuesday during his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
China and India, enjoying thousands of years of history, as the two largest developing countries, are facing the tasks faced by all developing economies and raising their citizens' standards of living, Zeng said.
The Communist Party of China (CPC) has established diplomatic relations with over 140 countries and 400 parties and organizations, and party diplomacy has become an important component of China's overall diplomacy, he said, expressing his wish to enhance the friendship between the two peoples and between the CPC and the Indian People's Party.
Vajpayee said India is happy about China's rapid development and draws inspiration from it. He expressed his willingness to enhance exchanges and cooperation between the Indian People's Party and the CPC.
Underlining the five principles of peaceful coexistence advocated by India and China 50 years ago, he said India is willing to promote the advancement of the democratization of the world order and the development of a multipolar world together with China.
