For the second consecutive day, India on Monday test-fired "Trishul" shot-range missile from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, east India, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.
Developed by India's Defense Research and Development Organization, the surface-to-air missile was test fired from a mobile launcher at around local time 5:15 p.m.
The solid fuel-propelled missile has a triple battle field role for the army, air force and navy and has a range of 500 meters to nine km with the capacity of carrying a 15 kg war head.
Monday's test-firing was part of the continuing effort to gauge the missile's accuracy and other parameters, the PTI quoted the defense sources as saying.
"Trishul" is about three meters in length and 200 cm in diameter and flies at supersonic speed, the sources said.
India test-fired "Trishul" on Sunday in the same place.
