A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official has urged people of non-Communist political parties and non-party figures to study and implement the essence of the just-concluded 16th CPC National Congress.
Jia Qinglin, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, made the appeal Friday at a seminar attended by leaders of China's non-Communist parties and noted figures not affiliated to any party.
After hearing speeches by the participants, Jia said that conscientious study and implementation of the essence of the CPC congress is vitally important for promoting the undertakings of the Party and the country in the new century.
As friends of the CPC and joint participants with the CPC in building socialism, non-Communist parties share the same fundamental interests and goals, he said.
Jia noted that the CPC-led multi-party cooperative and political consultative system is China's basic political system which can endure whatever difficulties and risks the country meets.
