The last drilling is to be staged at the main landing field in Inner Mongolia Thursday night to ensure the safe landing of China's second manned spacecraft, according to official sources.
At the landing field, located in Siziwang Banner (county) of Inner Mongolia, six helicopters and 14 special vehicles are ready for the recovery and rescue of the re-entry module. Staff workers keep daily regular testing of the command, recovery, communication and climate systems.
Sui Qisheng, commander-in-chief of the landing field, said three drillings have been made and all the equipment is operating well. The last drilling before Shenzhou VI comes back will be held Thursday night.
Director Yao Feng of the landing field cited weather forecast as saying that the coming days will see no heavy rain or snow at the landing field, and wind is expected to be weakening, which are favorable for the capsule's return.
