Some 180 out of the 356 members and alternate members of the new Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee are new faces, sources said Thursday.
Delegates to the week-long 16th CPC National Congress elected the new Central Committee. The committee consists of 198 full members and 158 alternate members. More than 20 percent of the members and alternate members of the new Central Committee are under the age of 50, according to the sources.
