The cold front that brought a stream of cold air to Shenzhen from the north will begin to subside Monday.
The minimum temperature of 8 degrees Celsius on Sunday will rise to 10 degrees Monday.
"The temperature will start rising from tomorrow," a spokesperson for the Shenzhen meteorological observatory said Sunday.
The spokesperson said, with the cold air stream weakening, Shenzhen would come under a low pressure system, which would result in the weather becoming cloudy, warm and humid.
Monday's temperatures will be between 10 and 17 degrees Celsius and rise to 21 degrees by Thursday. Scattered drizzle can be expected during the period.
City temperatures fell sharply during the weekend. The Shenzhen aid center provided shelter for about 50 people who came in from the cold.
Fu Tianyue, chief of the Shenzhen Social Welfare Center that administers the orphanage and home for the elderly, said both the orphans and homeless senior citizens were well protected from the cold weather.
