Samba dancers rehearse on Huaihai Road last night for the opening ceremony of the Shanghai Tourism Festival that kicked off today. Festival organizers promised the most colorful opening parade in the event's 17-year history, with a bang of fireworks and 21 colorful floats from all over the world. The grand parade is expected to attract more than three million people.
